It is our pleasure to inform you that the Centre for Public Health has recently been granted Institute status and therefore, as of 1st August 2016, our new name is Public Health Institute. We will be having a formal launch of our new title and status in October, to which all staff, students and stakeholders will be invited. As Public Health Institute our research will continue to be conducted to the highest standard. However, in addition to this we hope that our new status will allow us to achieve the following goals:
- The expansion of our education provision at all levels including the new BSc Public Health and growth of the already existing BSc Environmental Health, MSc Public Health, MSc Public Health (Addictions) and MSc International Public Health. In addition we hope that Institute status will encourage further recruitment of high quality Postgraduate Research students to complement our existing areas of expertise.
- Delivery of the highest quality research from leading academics in their field of expertise
- Targeted recruitment of senior academics to drive excellence in all areas of research together with contributions to education programmes
- Further international work – particularly in low and middle income countries
Improved research impact and external engagement – developing the evidence base related to service provision to some of the most vulnerable and deprived communities and individuals, providing the tools and evidence supporting effective delivery. In light of this change, cph.org.uk will soon cease to exist. However, once the website is no longer available, you will be able to access all our information, including publications and tools through the link below:
