In July 2016 the Global Consortium for Public Health was established during an initial two day meeting between participating colleagues. The vision of this international health research collaboration is to improve global health and wellbeing through research partnership and has outlined the following aims/goals:
- Fostering a sustainable partnership for global health research
- Facilitating health research capacity building in the collaboration
- Addressing global health priorities and responding to emerging public health threats
- Promoting implementation research to achieve the SDGs
Public Health Institute at LJMU will be the lead co-ordinating hub for the consortium with individual countries leading satellite hubs. Any new joining partner countries will establish a satellite hub in their respective country.
