Gaby has a BSc in Social Sciences (1996) and after working in a variety of jobs and spending 12 months in Australia on a working holiday, returned to higher education and qualified as a registered children’s nurse (BSc Child Nursing) in 2006. Since this time she has worked in neurology and neurosurgery, where she completed a mentorship qualification (2008) before moving into research in 2009.
Gaby now works within the Medicines for Children Local Research Network in Alder Hey, which has a dedicated Clinical Research Facility. Here she is part of a team which carries out essential paediatric research and delivers safe, high intensity studies of complex new medications, interventions and early phase studies, both within the UK and globally. She is also the student link nurse and is involved in delivering induction programs within the hospital trust.
