I joined the alcohol research team in May 2008. My role includes contributing to and writing literature reviews based on a variety of alcohol-related issues including the consumption of alcohol and related harms, and writing evidence-based reports for agencies such as local councils and Primary Care Trusts.  Since joining the alcohol team I have been involved with:

  • Assisting with the statistical analysis and preparation of the subsequent report of a social marketing campaign carried out in Sefton.
  • Field work research for the Big Drink Debate in the North West.
  • Distributing questionnaires and collation/analysis of the resultant data of a survey to assess alcohol knowledge and consumption patterns within the residents of the North West.
  • Prepared information relating to a number of Public Service Agreeements and how these link to alcohol, for inclusion on a Public Service Agreement website.
  • The co-ordination of a project in schools to assess parents’ and children’s perceptions of alcohol consumption.

My particular area of interest is alcohol use and harms associated with children and young people.

Prior to working at the Centre, I worked at Edge Hill University in the Psychology Department as a research assistant working on a website for ‘A’ Level Psychology teachers and students and  as a part-time lecturer.  I graduated from Edge Hill University in 2007 with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology,
