As Evidence Review and Research Manager in the Substance Use team at the Centre for Public Health, I manage a team undertaking evidence review and other research in the field of drug and alcohol prevention and treatment, and other related public health topics.
I have extensive experience of the coordination and production of systematic reviews, and most recently I have led the production of systematic reviews to support the development of public health guidance by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and undertaken evidence reviews to inform the development of guidance by the Chief Medical Officer on the consumption of alcohol by children and young people.
Before joining CPH I was involved in undertaking systematic reviews on a broad range of health topics. First as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination at the University of York for three years, and then at the University of Sheffield as part of the Review Body for Interventional Procedures (ReBIP), which undertook reviews for NICE.
